The Sumter County Coroner’s Office have identified the remains that were found on Cimmaron Road on November 26 in Sumter County.
Nelson died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds, according to an autopsy reported.
Baker said an autopsy was conducted at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston on November 28.
Nelson was identified through forensic testing that was completed with the assistance of The State Law Enforcement and was confirmed by his family, according to the Sumter County Coroner’s Office.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, The State Law Enforcement Division, and the Sumter County Coroner’s Office will continue to work diligently in hopes to quickly determine the person(s) responsible.
