Natalie Portman has been hitting a fashion high note lately, from her artful floral sequin Dior gown to her sexy keyhole cut-out halter dress. On Thursday, the actress did it again, debuting yet another look that incorporated one of the most controversial trends right now: the exposed bra.
The actress was spotted arriving at the Jimmy Kimmel Live! studio in a little black dress with a classic strapless silhouette and a juxtaposing mesh bra neckline. The sheer bra top peeked out from the top of the mini à la Carrie Bradshaw. It's unclear if the lingerie was built into the dress or simply layered under as a stylistic choice. Regardless, Portman paired the modern take on the timeless staple with nothing but black ankle-strap sandal heels, forgoing jewelry altogether.
Her signature brunette hair was worn in a sleek, straightened style with a middle part. The rest of Portman's glam consisted of bronzy contour, smoked-out eyeliner, and a fuchsia lip.
During her appearance on Thursday's episode, the actress (who was nominated for a Golden Globe on Sunday for her role in May December) shared a hilarious tidbit with host Jimmy Kimmel about the prop that her two kids, Amalia and Aleph, love to play with. The Thor: Love and Thunder star explained that she owns two versions of her famed hammer from the superhero flick: a collectible and her stunt prop.
"They gave me the memorabilia one that's no one's allowed to touch, and then I also have my stunt practice hammer, which gets more use," she told Kimmel. "My kids know not to try to harm with it, but I have to be careful when kids visit the house. It's heavy. It can do damage."
