Snoop Dogg Is Launching a Cereal Called Snoop Loopz, Naturally

We live in a society, y’all. A wacky society where down is up and up is down and Snoop Dogg is launching a new cereal called Snoop Loopz. Yes, Snoop Loopz. And before you ask, yes, Snoop Dogg’s cereal looks like Froot Loops. And yes, it apparently tastes like Froot Loops, too—at least, according to Master P, who said on Twitter, “If you like Fruit Loops then you will LOVE SnoopLoopz!!” Good to know, Master P. However, it seems there are a few things that set Snoop Loopz apart.

So, what makes Snoop Dogg’s cereal different from regular ol’ Froot Loops cereal?

Are Snoop Loopz just Froot Loops with a bunch of platinum albums? Not exactly. It seems like Snoop Loopz are very similar to Froot Loops in appearance, taste, and texture, but there are three key differences, as far as I can tell:

  • In addition to the fruity loops component, Snoop Loopz also contain marshmallows. YUM, MORE SUGARRRR!
  • Snoop Loopz are made by Snoop Dogg’s brand and not Kellogg’s (though both end in “ogg” which is not really important, just a cool coincidence), so there’s a blue dog on the box instead of a toucan.
  • Snoop is donating a portion of the proceeds from his cereal to Door of Hope, an organization meant to “empower families facing homelessness.”
  • Dang, Snoop. Did you really just make better Froot Loops?! I swear this man is a business genius. And actually, in the food world, Snoop Dogg is known for more than this chaotic mashed potato-making sesh with Martha Stewart. He’s apparently had a food brand for a while now called Broadus (his real last name) which includes products such as Mama Snoop’s oatmeal, grits, and pancake mix. So Snoop has been in the breakfast foods since before Snoop Loopz were even a twinkle in his eye.

I’m not usually one to buy fruity, colorful cereals, but hey, if I’m going to go do it, I’m buying Snoop Dogg’s cereal. Snoop Loopz haven’t actually launched yet, and we don’t even know the release date. So there are no reviews online, and I can’t actually vouch for it tasting good. But this cereal really does seem legit. Plus, Master P likes it, and I have to assume Snoop probably does, too—and honestly, that’s good enough for me.
